Two Decades. One Cause. Changing Outcomes.

This July, Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society is marking 20 years of supporting Canadians affected by pancreatic cancer. Created by the daughter of Craig Schurman Condon who passed away from this disease, the organization has grown into a national charity focused on awareness, education, patient support, and research. Over the past two decades, CCPCS has remained rooted in Canada, building peer support programs, financial assistance, clinical trial access tools, national education initiatives, the Kicking PancreAS™ 5K, and more. To honour this milestone, Canadians are encouraged to donate $20 for 20 years, share the campaign on social media, and help change outcomes across Canada.

Twenty years ago, in July 2006, Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society (CCPCS) began with one family’s loss and a clear need for better pancreatic cancer support in Canada. After Craig Schurman Condon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away only eight weeks later, his daughter, Stefanie Condon-Oldreive, turned her grief into action.

Today, CCPCS continues to honour Craig’s legacy by supporting Canadians affected by pancreatic cancer through awareness, healthcare education, patient support, and Canadian-based research.

To celebrate our 20 years, we're proudly celebrating Canada with our slogan “Two decades. One Cause. Changing Outcomes.”. Our mission has always been rooted here—supporting Canadians affected by pancreatic cancer and advocating for better care, greater awareness, and improved outcomes across the country. While much has changed over the past two decades, one thing never has: our commitment to keeping every fundraising dollar in Canada, where it can make the greatest difference for Canadian patients and families.

Built From Lived Experience

CCPCS was created because patients and families needed more information, more support, and a stronger voice in Canada. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a national charity focused on improving survival and quality of life for Canadians diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Over the years, the organization has listened to patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and families to better understand what was missing in Canada. Those voices helped shape programs that respond to real needs across the pancreatic cancer journey.

20 Years of Programs and Progress

Over the past two decades, CCPCS has helped create and support unique initiatives that make a direct difference for Canadians. These include:

  • Canada’s only national pancreatic peer support group
  • Canada’s only disease-specific National Pancreas Conference
  • Canada’s only pancreatic cancer financial assistance program
  • Canada’s only national patient and caregiver journey survey
  • Canada’s only pancreatic cancer specific clinical trial access tool
  • Canada’s first national PERT Guidelines initiative
  • Health Canada-licensed PERT Calculator™
  • Canada’s only National Series 5k Run - Kicking PancreAS™ 5K
  • Canada’s only National Pathways Draft and working committee for pancreatic cancer

Each program reflects the same goal: to make sure Canadians affected by pancreatic cancer feel informed, supported, and connected.

Why This Campaign Matters

This July, CCPCS is celebrating its 20th Anniversary Campaign by sharing the stories, voices, and impact behind the programs you help make possible.

Every donation stays in Canada. Every gift supports awareness, education, patient support, and research. Every share helps reach someone who may be facing this disease and looking for hope, answers, or community.

How You Can Help
